For those of you thinking of buying Dell, don't. Dell is pure garbage. Bought a $1400 XPS desktop and a few months later got blue screen errors easily repeatable to "customer service" only to have them tell me "it's out of their scope" after weeks of "troubleshooting". They couldn't diagnose the issue at all, but somehow knew enough to avoid any responsibility. The warranty I paid for was useless and their 30 day return policy is essentially a license-to-steal. Read their FB page comments and other forums- they have zero business ethics. You don't put the "locked into walled ecosystem" as a con. For some people, all the values of other advantages must substantially trump this aspect for them to be able to take the plunge. I gotta say, windows laptop in 2020 had improved a lot. Thanks to AMD who moved the market to such competitive edge. Amd is the 2020 winner.

I hate how with the chuwi, they use stuff like 12 gig and 16 gig of ram to wow people who don't know much about laptops into thinking that the celeron is good for the price

Im about to return the M1, it has a lot going for it but compared to my older macbook pro, it doesn't really feel much different experience wise other than obviously the battery life is excellent. The touchpad isn't a game changer but the complete lack of ports is. On top of that, mac osx is starting to really annoy me for a laptop/pc experience. It is such a pain to download software and get it going compared to a windows computer. I want to have control of my computer, not vice versa

ThnkPad keyboards outclass everything in my opinion. I really like the page up and page down keys in that position. The Fn and Ctrl keys can be swapped using the Lenovo Vantage software (comes built in and is actually useful) with a simple toggle.

Congrats to the manufacturers? I guess the people who underpay their employees in countries that don't have adequate labor laws or health and safety standards did keep pumping out short-term use hardware during pandemic. Hardware that, when it breaks down after a few years, goes into a landfill or worse. How about all the folks who either died or work jobs that don't pay and can't afford a computer? I enjoy this channel a lot, but that opening was obscenely tone deaf.

I’m just curious why the gateway and chuwi laptop were your choices. I’ve had much better success with Asus Vivobooks with 8/256/Ryzen 5. That unit costs 429. Also the Ryzen 3 version running on Windows S works great for 379. Did they just send you those ones? No offense intended I love your channel! I just was genuinely confused after I explored the 500$ and under market, these two laptops you offered us this year are not the best in that range.

No one who's pounding on the keyboard for hours is going to want a glossy display. It might not be perfect but my Dell Latitude 7400 is about as close as it gets for programming and general office tasks, and it's still upgradable, and has a beautiful screen. As much as it's a device aimed towards business, equally works for the consumer here. The Yoga is a nice device, it's just certainly not my pick for that task and if your less soiled the Latitude 5400 is a nice option and offers more connectivity to boot.
